Region game 1 – goes to the Wildcats 10 – 0.
The game went 4 and ½ innings. Dunwoody pitchers held Columbia batters to 1 hit. Hunter Wheeler started the game, James Farnell was next, and Boone Evans finished the game.
Junior 1st baseman, Tim Lin went yard off of a tiring Columbia starting pitcher. Tim’s big blow was hit to dead away centerfield – my guess of about 375’ in Tim’s eyes – some 450’. In any event, this Home Run was Dunwoody’s first of the season and it was great to see the DHS Home Run Leap as Tim crossed home plate.
Tonight’s game with Lakeside is iffy at best. I will let you know about the game as soon as I know something.
This is Vanderlyn Elementary School ’s “Fill the Hill” spirit night. There should be a larger than normal crowd for a Saturday night game at DHS. Bill Marrack from Pig ‘N Chik will do the honors of the ceremonial first pitch. Festivities with the kids will start around 6:00 PM and the Ceremonial 1st pitch will happen around 6:50 PM. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
Of course, all of this is subject to change due to inclement weather that is in our area today.
See you at the ball park.
